So, long story short...
jason sadler made the mistake of
Eating like a fatkid
My Advice to You is
The workouts are great, but diet is 75% of losing weight
Here's the whole story
There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to dieting, working out and combining the two to lose weight. A lot of people just assume by walking in the gym you are accomplishing what is needed to lose those dreaded love-handles. What most people don't understand is that no matter how hard you work out, your metabolism is never going to change and you are never going to see the results you want (I preface this by saying that if you ran 20 miles a day, did weight training and did this everyday - you may lose a couple pounds).
The key is dieting and portion control. You don't necessarily even need to cut out all those foods you love, but you do need to control how much of them you eat, when you eat them and what you eat them with. However, if you are looking for great results, a stunning physique and a set of abs you could grate cheese with - you'll have to be strict and cut out all those foods you crave.
I could go on and on about this and might do so in a follow up story, but this is the key to success:
» 6 to 8 meals spread out evenly through your day (eat every 2-3 hours)
» don't eat until you 'feel' full (a good rule of thumb is the portion you eat should be the size of your fist)
» cut out empty carbs (chips, cookies, crackers etc)
» drink lots of water! (I can't stress enough how important this one is, at least 1 gallon a day)
That is your short road to success!

But doughnuts at the china super buffet are sooooo goood.
I'm gonna lend sadler some cred here. I used to live with this guy. He used to stockpile cases of Orange Soda in our laundry room and eat those giant boxes of goldfish for dinner. Now he's a ripped athletic superstar.
